April proved to be a great month with many successes. 15 projects were granted planning permission, granted lawful development certificates or deemed to be permitted development. They were spread across Derbyshire Dales, Amber Valley, South Derbyshire, Derby City, Westminster, North East Derbyshire and Newark and Sherwood. We also provided expert witness support for Amber Valley Borough Council at an 8-day public inquiry.
Highlights included an approval in principle for 100 homes near Heanor, revised proposals for a conference centre with new energy centre for a major multinational in Derbyshire and multiple permissions for a landowner in Castle Gresley.
We have a great team of planning and design professionals and I am proud of each member of staff. Success has come though patient negotiation with local planning authorities and listening to what the client wants within the constraints of the planning system.
The month highlighted for me the breath of work that we do. Our work spans householder development though to large housing permissions; extensions to industrial parks and major housing and industrial allocations. We can provide building regulation drawings, contract administration and a full design service using the skills of our architect led design team. In addition, we have expertise in relation to development in sensitive historic locations and have a long record of success in rural planning going back nearly 20 years.
I am pleased to say that we are looking to expand our activities with new recruits to our design team, more of which next month.
