We are all too aware of the importance of reducing carbon emissions and the requirement of all new homes to be zero carbon by 2016, now a new task force has been created to bring all non-domestic building in line with zero carbon by 2019.
The task force, launched by UK Green Building Council, has several leading companies including John Lewis, British Land & Atkins amongst others who are already promoting the use of sustainable design in their building construction. The group of companies will firstly explore the practical uses and most promising ‘Allowable Solutions’ of carbon reduction which developers can implement into their construction; and secondly look at how Part L can be amended in 2016 to achieve zero carbon by 2019.
