Jonathan Jenkin

Director

Jonathan has over 24 years experience gained through an extensive career within Local Authorities in London, Cornwall and the Midlands and more recently with the Environment Agency.

 

Jonathan has won many planning appeals and secured planning permission on difficult sites across the Midlands through patient negotiation, good design and a firm understanding of planning law.

 

“I offer particular expertise on planning law, development plans and development control.  I have extensive site design experience and am able to maximise site potential in a given location.  I am an expert on sustainable development and on the role of Government planning policies at both national and regional levels.  As a chartered town planner I have represented both private clients and Local Authorities as an expert planning witness at major public planning inquires.”

Jon Millhouse

Planning Consultant

Jon joined the practice in August 2004 shortly after graduating from the Oxford Brookes University School of Planning, where he obtained a First in Environmental Design and Conservation and Geography.

Jon has since developed his town planning, urban design, and conservation skills through direct involvement in a wide range of planning projects.  His primary role in the company is to manage the preparation and submission of planning applications for clients.

He has obtained consent for a number of developments in Derbyshire and Staffordshire, including new dwellings, householder extensions, barn conversions, alterations to listed buildings, and change of use applications involving commercial, industrial and residential uses.  He has also worked on successful planning appeals, and produced several design briefs and conservation area appraisals.

Jon has a comprehensive knowledge of planning law, a good understanding of conservation issues and excellent analytical skills.

Andrew Gore

Planning Consultant

Andrew joined Planning Design Practice in December 2007. Prior to this Andrew spent nearly 4 years in Local Authority Planning, including Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council and Tamworth Borough Council. Andrew completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Leeds in 2003, and achieved his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning at Sheffield Hallam University in 2007.

 

Andrew’s time in Local Authority planning has afforded him extensive experience in dealing with all manner of applications including major applications for large residential and commercial developments, Listed Building Consents, Change of Use Applications, Lawful Development Certificates, Tree Preservation Order related applications, Conservation Area Consent, and many other complex planning matters.

 

Andrew has an excellent understanding of all relevant planning policy, procedures and law, and also posses the ability to apply this knowledge to the benefit of Planning and Design Practice clients.

Nichola Funnell

Design Consultant

Nichola joined the company in May 2006 shortly after gaining her BA (Honours) degree in Interior Architecture from the University of Central England.

 

Since joining the practice, Nichola has developed her design skills and works closely with Jonathan, Jon and our clients to achieve the most potential for sites.

 

She enjoys creating spatial layouts for renovation projects and taking on the challenges of Barn Conversions.

 

Her interests are house renovation, interior design and horse riding.  She has owned horses for most of her life and is able to give excellent input into equine projects.

 

“The biggest challenge in design is that there are no right or wrong answers.  Every project throws a new design issue into the equation which creates both interest and excitement.  Our aim is to work closely with our clients to achieve the highest quality designs to their satisfaction."

 

Nichola is currently studying a short course at Derby University in Construction Surveying and Levelling.

Pam Wilkins

Office Manager

In May 2006, Pam joined the company as administrator after working as a PA for many years.

She is now Office Manager dealing with the day to day general activities.
