We have been successful in obtaining planning approval for the conversion of the former Tibshelf Methodist Church to two dwellings. The Church, which was constructed in 1863 and adjoins the Tibshelf Conservation Area, unfortunately closed in 2013. Owners the Border Mission Circuit asked Planning and Design to find a new use of the redundant building.
In preparing the scheme we commissioned an archaeological assessment by Mayfield Consulting Archaeologists, and liaised closely with officers at Derbyshire County and Bolsover District Councils to agree a sensitive design which protects the building’s character.
We are confident that the re-use scheme will provide a viable means of securing the maintenance of this landmark building for many years to come.
