Samuel is a Graduate Planner working towards a Masters Degree in Urban Planning.

Samuel Young is a Graduate Planner based in Sheffield, supporting planning projects across Derbyshire and the wider Midlands region. Since joining Planning & Design Practice in September 2023, Samuel has been developing his experience in town planning, planning applications and policy-led development.

Samuel is currently undertaking an Urban Planning Degree Apprenticeship at Sheffield Hallam University, working towards a Master’s degree in Urban Planning. He has already achieved a University Certificate and Advanced Diploma in Urban Planning, building strong knowledge in UK planning policy, development management and sustainable planning principles.

At Planning & Design Practice, Samuel contributes to a range of planning consultancy services, assisting with the preparation of planning applications, site appraisals and supporting planning reports. He is gaining valuable experience working within the planning system across Derbyshire, Yorkshire and the Midlands, helping to deliver well-considered and policy-compliant development proposals.

Samuel is enthusiastic about developing his career in town planning and development consultancy, with a particular interest in understanding how planning policy shapes successful and sustainable development.

Outside of work, Samuel enjoys working on his classic car, attending car shows, and driving.
