Senior Planner - Chartered Town Planner

Megan initially joined Planning & Design Practice in July 2022 in a part-time capacity, before becoming a full time member of the team in September 2022.

Megan Askham is a Chartered Town Planner based in Sheffield, providing professional planning consultancy services across Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and the Peak District. She supports clients with a range of planning applications, policy advice and development proposals, with a strong understanding of regional planning contexts.

Megan studied Geography (BA) at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 2021, before completing her Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning (MSc) at the University of Sheffield in 2022. Her academic background underpinning her professional work includes a strong focus on sustainable development, land use planning and regional policy.

Since joining Planning & Design Practice, Megan has contributed to projects across a variety of sectors, assisting in the preparation of planning applications, site appraisals and supporting documentation. She has experience working on schemes within sensitive planning areas, including the Peak District National Park, and understands the importance of balancing development needs with environmental and policy constraints.

Working from the Sheffield office, Megan brings valuable insight into local planning authorities across Yorkshire and the Midlands, helping clients navigate the planning process and achieve successful outcomes.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys travelling on city breaks across Europe, exploring the Peak District and surrounding countryside, and attending live music events and summer festivals.
